Wishwell is built to hold your hopes gently. This page explains, in plain language, what we do and do not keep.
Every wish is private the moment you write it. We never publish a wish unless you explicitly choose to share it — and that choice only appears after your wish has already been cast, so you never have to decide about publicity while writing something personal.
In this version, your private wish stays in your own browser and is not sent to a server. The only wish text intended to persist is a wish you deliberately submit to the public Wish Wall — and even then it is anonymous, with no name or contact details attached.
Public wishes carry no identity. Shared wishes are reviewed before they appear, and every public card can be reported. Please don't include names, addresses, phone numbers, or emails in a shared wish.
We never see or store raw card details. When real payments are enabled, they run through a trusted provider (such as Stripe or PayPal) using their secure, tokenized checkout. To handle any future payment dispute, we keep a small record of transaction ids and timestamps proving a purchase was delivered — but your wish text is never placed in payment records or provider metadata.
You do not need to create an account to make a wish. If email receipts are offered later, your email will be kept separate from any public wish.
